On Saturday, October 24, Good Deeds International members (Vice President Cora Stovall O'Kelley and Devan Powe) and friends (Debra Stovall and Rebecca Conrad, who is a 6-year breast cancer survivor!)joined the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" Annual Walk, held at Atlantic Station in Atlanta.  Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society's premier event to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. But it’s more than just the name of a walk – it describes the amazing progress we’re making together to defeat this disease.

With thousands of enthusiastic supporters of such an awesome cause, the 3.2-mile brisk morning walk represented ACS' continued effort to fight for a cure for breast cancer.  The event included open and closing ceremonies with 11 Alive's Karen Grier serving as Toast Mistress, other special guests, live entertainment, free food, corvette driven escorts for the walk, and special recognition of breast cancer survivors.  Since 1993, nearly five million walkers have raised more than $340 million through Making Strides.  In 2008 alone, nearly 600,000 walkers across the country collected more than $60 million to help fight breast cancer.  The Good Deeds International team raised $150 for the cause and if you are still interested in making a donation, please click here.
